U of T’s biggest alumni gathering took place May 28-June 1

What do you get when you mix 100+ events with thousands of proud alumni? U of T’s most dynamic reunion yet. Alumni Reunion 2025 lit up all three campuses over five fun-filled days. It was the biggest gathering yet, drawing over 16,000 alumni who reconnected with old friends, sparked new conversations and made memories together.

“This year’s reunion was a powerful showcase of alumni spirit – with graduates enjoying countless opportunities to engage in person across our campuses and colleges, as well as online,” says Barbara Dick (BA 1987 UC), U of T’s assistant vice-president, alumni relations.

Cheers to the years

Despite the blustery weather, spirits were high at Alumni Fest as all three campuses came alive with outdoor celebrations. Alumni, families and friends gathered to enjoy delicious food, live entertainment, lawn games and plenty of fun in the sun.

This year, Kids’ Passport to U of T took place across all three campuses, inviting children to explore the university through hands-on, curiosity-driven activities. Designed to make academic ideas fun and accessible, the event offered everything from building model cities to solving mock crime scenes and tracking wildlife. As kids collected stamps and took on challenges, they were introduced to university spaces and inspired to think like researchers, scientists and explorers.

Old friends, new connections

The 2SLGBTQ+ Spring Soirée brought together a lively crowd of U of T alumni and friends at Ricarda’s for a vibrant evening of community, conversation and standout performances by drag queens Lucy Flawless and Karamilk. The perfect way to kickoff Pride season, the soirée was a joyful reminder of the strength and spirit of U of T’s queer alumni network.

Our newest grads gathered for SHAKER, an exclusive event at the Royal Ontario Museum. They mingled with dinosaurs and enjoyed after-hours access to some of the museum’s fascinating collections while catching up with friends and making new connections in an inspiring setting.

Brain food for curious minds

The Stress-Free Degree lecture series offers alumni exclusive access to the groundbreaking research and influential ideas emerging from U of T’s top scholars. This year’s lectures featured thought leaders such as Lucan Way, Distinguished Professor of Democracy, on America’s drift toward authoritarianism, and Kang Lee, a world-renowned expert in developmental psychology, on how and why children learn to lie. From AI’s impact on digital infrastructure to the future of Canadian multiculturalism, the series brings alumni closer to the cutting-edge work defining U of T’s global reputation for research excellence.

Doug Richards (pictured below), former team doctor of the Toronto Raptors and an associate professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education, gave a fascinating keynote at the University of Toronto Alumni Association Annual Meeting. Entitled “Big choices to encourage healthy lifestyles,” his presentation focused on which healthy choices matter most and explored strategies for living well. The official proceedings of the Annual Meeting followed the talk and Dr. Vivian Rambihar was named the recipient of the Carl Mitchell Award for Community Impact.
