Everyone knows that exercise is good for our physical health. But the benefits of exercise go beyond the improvement of cardiovascular health and muscle strength. In this lecture, Professor Sabiston will present evidence on why physical activity is important, how it is linked to improved mental health, and how this field of research and practice is advancing today. Professor Sabiston will also explore practical strategies for developing exercise habits and staying motivated, and how to overcome barriers to improving mental health and emotional well-being.
