Join the University of Toronto Alumni Virtual Book Club as we read Denison Avenue, a beautifully crafted illustrated novella by U of T alumna Christina Wong (BA 2003), with artwork by Daniel Innes, that blends fiction and illustration to create an intimate portrait of memory, grief, and the quiet resilience of community.
Set in Toronto’s Chinatown near Kensington Market, Denison Avenue follows the life of an elderly widow navigating personal loss while witnessing the rapid transformation of the neighbourhood she has long called home. Through evocative storytelling and expressive ink drawings, the book captures the tension between change and tradition in a city that never stands still.
From March 2 - May 15, 2026, purchase the book from the U of T Bookstore, in store or online, and receive 25% off. Use Code: 25DENISON26 at checkout.
