What's the connection between children's mental health, absenteeism, and school relationships today? Join OISE alum Dr. Maria A. Roger, a Tier II Canada Research Chair, for a virtual colloquium to explore this topic.

Emerging data suggests that absenteeism in elementary and high school children has doubled, even tripled, around the world since 2020.
In this talk, Dr. Maria A. Roger, an alum and Tier II Canada Research Chair, will explore new findings from her lab about the intersections between absenteeism, child mental health, and the centrality of school relationships. She will discuss the complexities of this field of study as well as some of the ways we can support children and youth who have struggled to attend school since the pandemic.
All attendees will be entered into a draw to win one of two $25.00 gift cards! Registrants will receive a reminder two business days before this event with the Zoom details.
