Join award-winning BBC Chief International Correspondent Lyse Doucet (MA 1982 SGS; LL.D 2009 HON) for an evening of conversation and reflection as she launches her new book, The Finest Hotel in Kabul: A People’s History of Afghanistan.

In this powerful work, Doucet draws on decades of on-the-ground reporting to share an intimate portrait of Afghanistan—its resilience, heartbreak, and extraordinary people. Through stories that span wars, peace talks, and moments of quiet humanity, she offers a rare, deeply personal look at a country often seen only through conflict.

As part of her North American tour this November, Lyse will visit cities across Canada and the United States for a series of public talks and discussions about her work, her craft, and the lessons learned from a lifetime covering world events.
