U of T alumni and friends are invited to a thought-provoking talk by

2017 marks an important moment in Canadian history; 150 years since Confederation. This milestone gives Canadians the opportunity to reflect on our shared values and triumphs, and our country's place in the world. 

As we celebrate Canada's rich history, we also look at how past events have shaped present-day politics and laws. In this talk, Prof. Roach will examine how Canada has been served by our Constitution over the last 150 years, and predicts the issues and controversies the future may hold. He will also explore the roles of the executive, legislature and the courts in protecting rights, including controversies over judicial activism.
