Join fellow U of T alumni and friends for a guided tour of the French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950 exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery!
The French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850-1950 exhibit presents sixty paintings and sculptures by many celebrated artists exemplifying the avant-garde movements that defined Modern art from the late-nineteenth to early twentieth centuries. The exhibition includes examples of the key movements of the period—Realism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism—that emerged in and around Paris between 1850 and 1950 and quickly became part of the dominant Western canon. For more information about the exhibit, click here.
The tour will run from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. After the tour, alumni and friends are invited to the YEW seafood + bar in the Four Seasons Hotel (3 minute walk from the gallery) for networking and refreshments. Appetizers will be provided. Attendees are responsible for purchasing their own beverages. Your alumni representatives and event organizers, Melanie Jackson (BA VIC 1978) and Ian OBriain (BA UTM 1989), will be there to welcome you.
Cost includes tour and appetizers at the YEW seafood + bar.
