U of T alumni and friends are invited to a reception and thought-provoking presentation by
Professor Catherine Sabiston
Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity and Mental Health
Professor, Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education, University of Toronto
Everyone knows that exercise is good for our physical health. But the benefits of exercise go beyond the improvement of cardiovascular health and muscle strength. In this lecture, Professor Sabiston will present evidence on why physical activity is important, how it is linked to improved mental health, and how this field of research and practice is advancing today. Professor Sabiston will also explore practical strategies for developing exercise habits and staying motivated, and how to overcome barriers to improving mental health and emotional well-being.
Professor Sabiston's presentation is part of an ongoing series of compelling lectures for alumni, hosted in cities around the world. U of T Where You Are brings the University right into your community, keeping you informed, inspired and connected, because together we are boundless.
