Power & Prediction: The Disruptive Economics of Artificial Intelligence
by
Dr. Ajay Agrawal
Professor, Strategic Management, Rotman School of Management
Geoffrey Taber Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation
University of Toronto
Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to impact the distribution of wealth and power across the globe. India is well positioned to benefit from the recent advances in this technology, but a positive outcome is not guaranteed. Dr. Ajay Agrawal will describe the key economic forces underlying this technology and explain the trade-offs that business leaders and policy makers must make as they design and implement their AI strategies.
Dr. Ajay Agrawal is one of the world’s leading economists on machine intelligence, and has co-authored the best-selling book Prediction Machines published in 2018. He teaches at the Rotman School of Business (University of Toronto), where he conducts research on technology strategy, science policy, entrepreneurial finance, and the geography of innovation. Dr. Agrawal founded Toronto’s Creative Destruction Lab, a highly successful program for seed-stage, science-based start-ups that have the potential to scale into massive companies.
