Juliet Kothe

Juliet Kothe is an art sociologist, curator, author and lecturer. She is the founder and artistic director of HOUSE—a nomadic art institution hosting international artistic productions, exhibitions and musical performances.

Kothe was director of the Boros Foundation for five years until 2022 and artistic co-director of STUDIO BERLIN, an exhibition at Berghain in 2020-2021. One of her current research topics deals with the construction of femininity through artists' imagery of themselves and others. In winter 2023 she co-published a book titled, Boobs in the Arts fe:male bodies in pictorial history, that seeks to combine art historical connections with feminist and contemporary depictions of the breast.

Currently she is the co-teacher for the sculpture class at Berlin Weissensee Art Academy together with Prof. Albrecht Schäfer. She has also taught art field history at Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel since 2024.
