2011 Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award Recipients

Kate Johnson's volunteer contributions to the Faculty of Information stand out with respect particularly to her leadership as co-chair of the Children and Youth Advocacy group. Kate, while working toward her master's degree, coordinated a proposal that led to the development of new courses and the hiring of a permanent faculty member focused on the information needs of young people. She also forged partnerships with other student groups to raise money for the Children's Book Bank, developed a number of student events and networking resources, and created a blog for the advocacy group.
