2010 Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award Recipients

As co-founder and vice-president of Students for World Literacy, Homira Osman has promoted the work of this organization that addresses social justice issues through education and literacy. Among her contributions, Homira was the group's coordinator for a poverty and hunger relief project for Afghanistan and coordinator of the Somalia school project. She has also been chair of the board of directors of the U of Toronto Scarborough Women's Centre and a board member of the Muslim Students' Association.
