SHAKER for Young Alumni 2025
Please be advised that the SHAKER for Young Alumni event is 19+ event. This ticket does not provide access to the Royal Ontario of Museum (ROM) during the museum’s regular business hours (10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).
Arrival Information
The Bloor Street entrance is temporarily closed due to construction. All visitors should use the entrances on Queen’s Park Avenue to enter the museum. Upon arrival, all guests will be required to go through a metal detector security check, including bag screening conducted by ROM staff. Complimentary bag/coat check will be available on first-come, first-served basis.
Primary Check-In: President’s Choice School Entrance
Every attendee must receive a name badge to enter the ROM for the event. Please arrive at the President’s Choice (PC) School Entrance to pick up your Alumni Reunion name badge starting at 7:00 p.m.
Note: Last check-in at the PC School Entrance will be at 9:30 p.m.
Early Check-In: Edward Johnson Building - Faculty of Music Lobby
Want to skip the long lines at the ROM? Pick up your Alumni Reunion name badge early and start your evening stress-free!
We’re offering a convenient alternate check-in option at the Faculty of Music lobby, located in the Edward Johnson building (see map below) which begins at 6:15 p.m. The last chance for early check-in at the Edward Johnson building is 8:00 p.m., so swing by before then and beat the crowd.
Note: Once you pick-up your name badge at Faculty of Music, you may enter the ROM through our “fast pass” line, located at the Weston Entrance on Queen’s Park Avenue (see map below). Only name-badge holders from the Faculty of Music will be allowed to enter through the Weston Entrance.
Directions to the Edward Johnson Building (early check-in)
Building access:
- East Entrance* (Queen’s Park Entrance): Located by the Faculty of Law and the former planetarium site, the entrance offers ramp access and automatic doors.
Arriving by TTC:
- Museum Station is the closest subway station to the Edward Johnson Building.
- Exit the station through the Queen’s Park exit and travel north toward the War Memorial.
- At the crosswalk, continue walking north, staying to the left side of Queen’s Park. You will come to a driveway with a sign that reads "Faculty of Law, Faculty of Music."
- Turn left and walk straight past Falconer Hall. The Edward Johnson Building will be directly ahead.
Wheel-Trans drop off:
- The drop-off area is located at the main accessible entrance on the east side of the building, off Queen's Park.

- You can use the TTC Trip Planner to plan your route via subway, bus or streetcar, and receive detailed directions for your journey. Trip Planner also includes an “accessible trip” filter to help you find the best route for your needs.

Food and Refreshments
Passed appetizers will be served throughout the event venue, as well as numerous food stations and bars. Alcoholic drink tickets can be purchased with debit or credit card – there are no cash payments on-site. Non-alcoholic drinks will be available free of charge throughout the evening.
