Sydney C. Cooper
Arbor Award 2007 recipient
In 1998, Sydney Cooper (BASc Civil 4T5) and his son Richard (BASc Civil 7T3) named one of their thoroughbred racing horses Espee Ess after the School of Practice Science, now called the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. Since then, they have donated a portion of the horse's purse winnings to the faculty. In 2000, Sydney established the Sydney C. Cooper Chair in Business and Technology and has helped support the Jeffrey Skoll BASc/MBA Program. He has also been a keen supporter of scholarships for deserving engineering students.
