Laurie was instrumental in establishing the relationship between the Tanz Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases and The Peter Cundill Foundation. He has also been a leader in the campaign for the James Hunter Family ALS Initiative and has helped engage other volunteers in support of the cause.
