2012 Arbor Award Recipients

Ihor Walter Bardyn was the author of the submission to the University of Toronto for the creation of a Chair of Ukrainian Studies. As a member and now president of the University of Toronto Chair in Ukrainian Studies Foundation, he helped lead the community-based fundraising initiative that resulted in the creation of Canada's first Chair in Ukrainian Studies at U of T in 1979. Thirty years later, Ihor facilitated the enhancement of this original gift through a $2-million gift from John Yaremko and the Chair Foundation.
