For the past 15 years Harold Harvey has spearheaded multiple initiatives to create undergraduate and graduate scholarships as well as endowed lectures for the departments of zoology, ecology and evolutionary biology. The professor emeritus, who joined the zoology department in 1963, has raised global awareness of the problem of acidification. He began an alumni newsletter for the department and it now has a circulation of 4,500.
