Bard on the Beach presents, The Two Gentlemen of Verona—with a twist! This nostalgic visit to the ‘80s features a soundtrack of that candy-coloured decade, from unforgettable dance hits to tear-jerking ballads, as it celebrates friendship and the foolhardy ways young love makes us behave. 

Set against the backdrop of 1980s Milan, two best friends—Valentine and Proteus—both fall for Silvia. Proteus betrays his fiancée Julia and his loyalty to Valentine. Julia disguises herself and follows him to Milan, witnessing the fallout of betrayal and finally forgiveness. The production highlights youthful impulsiveness, friendship, and emotional reckoning within a vibrant retro framework.

Attendees may arrive from 6:00 PM to enjoy early access to the site. 

To collect your tickets, simply follow the University of Toronto signs upon arrival. Our U of T alumni community will now be seated at the Marquee space and can enjoy the private bar that is accessible from 6 pm. The Marquee bar will also be open for intermission!

Food and beverages may be pre-ordered at your own cost through Emelle’s Catering, Bard's official caterer.
