Mathangi (Indi) Gopinathan
Indi Gopinathan was first elected by the College of Electors on February 23, 2022; she is currently serving from July 1st, 2022 - June 30th, 2025
Indi Gopinathan is a Board Director and Finance and Strategy leader, with extensive experience in Capital Markets and Natural Resources. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Ascot Resources Ltd. Previously, she held senior corporate and consulting roles including, most recently, Vice President - Investor Relations and Corporate Communications of an intermediate gold company. She was appointed Adjunct Professor in Mineral Economics at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering from 2015-19.
Ms Gopinathan has been actively involved in the University’s Engineering community, serving on the board of the Engineering Alumni Network, mentoring students, and providing them with opportunities to network with industry leaders. Her outstanding volunteer service was honoured in 2018 with an Arbor Award. She has also served on the boards of not-for-profit and professional organizations.
Ms Gopinathan received a BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Queen’s University. She is a designated P.Eng, and CPA, CMA.
