Seven ways to celebrate Alumni Reunion in style

Are you ready for the best Alumni Reunion ever? From outdoor fests to kids’ activities, thought-provoking lectures and so much more, there’s something for everyone at our annual celebration of all things alumni. This year, there are 100+ events to choose from — in person and online.
Taking place every spring, Alumni Reunion is U of T’s biggest alumni gathering, bringing people back to all three campuses and involving our global community of grads through virtual offerings. Whether you’re attending an event hosted by your faculty, campus or college, or signing up for one of our flagship events, it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with old pals from your U of T days – and show friends and family why you loved it so much.
Feeling nostalgic yet? Block off your calendar for May 28–June 1 and register for Alumni Reunion today.
Here are seven ideas to help you plan your itinerary:
1. Join the celebration at an Alumni Fest near you
Who doesn’t love an outdoor festival? For the first time ever, this popular event will be taking place at all three campuses. You’re welcome to attend whichever fest is most convenient for you – no matter which campus you graduated from. Alumni Fest will take place at St George Campus, while UTSC will reprise its popular Alumni Fest East and UTM will join the party with Alumni Fest West. It’s free entry and just $5 for delicious food, plus there’s live entertainment, lawn games, and kids’ activities.
2. Treat the kids to a morning of discovery at Kids’ Passport to U of T
The little ones in your life will get a kick out of this fan-favourite experience, now at all three campuses. From building a model city to visiting the slime lab to playing detective for the day – there are activities for all interests. Grab your passport when you arrive and get stamps or stickers as you complete the activities.
3. Expand your mind with Stress-Free Degree lectures
If you miss the intellectual workout your brain received at U of T, these free lectures are for you. This year’s talks cover topics in the cultural zeitgeist including how children learn to tell lies, the connection between racial injustice and climate change, and the widespread issue of chronic pain in Canada. There are 13 lectures on offer, available in person and online.
4. Get healthy lifestyle tips from the Toronto Raptors’ former team doctor
From too much sitting to not enough sleep, U of T professor (and former Toronto Raptors team doctor) Doug Richards explores which lifestyle choices really make a difference to our health. Don’t miss his inspiring keynote presentation at the University of Toronto Alumni Association’s Annual Meeting, which is open to all alumni to attend.
5. Explore the ROM after hours
SHAKER, our 19+ event for new and recent grads, will take over two floors of the ROM for an evening of mingling among dinosaurs, meteorites, Chinese sculptures and more. Alumni tickets are $20 and include non-alcoholic drinks and appetizers.
6. Celebrate Pride with cocktails and canapés
Meet your U of T friends at a hotspot in the heart of the city, where historical architecture meets modern design. 2SLGBTQ+ alumni will gather at Ricarda’s for a chic soirée on the cusp of Pride. DJ, drinks, French-inspired appetizers and photo-booth antics are all included.
7. Celebrate a milestone anniversary
If you’re celebrating a big U of T anniversary, we’re here to make it extra special. Take a trip down memory lane at invite-only events for alumni celebrating their 50th, 55th, 60th, 65th, 70th, 75th and 80th anniversaries of graduation, including the Chancellor’s Breakfast at the Fairmont Royal York, followed by a campus bus tour, and the 50th Anniversary Ceremony and Reception at Convocation Hall.
