About the speaker

Teo Salgado (HBA 1997 Arts & Sci.) 
Principal, VerveSmith, Ltd. 

After a career spanning nearly 20 years at two of Canada’s premier research universities, Teo launched VerveSmith, Ltd., an education consultancy serving clients from around the world. The firm offers advisory services to prospective students and families seeking boarding school and post-secondary programs in Canada and abroad. 

Our speaker is a highly regarded higher education professional. Teo began his career in student recruitment at the University of Toronto, before moving to Western University to lead the creation of its international student recruitment program.  He returned to the University of Toronto to lead outreach to alumni outside of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).  

Teo is a graduate of the University of Toronto, McGill University, and the University of California, Los Angeles. As a U of T student, he was director of the Erindale College Student’s Union and president of the Students’ Administrative Council.  He maintains his connection with his alma maters volunteering with the McGill University Alumni Association (Toronto) and the University of Toronto at Mississauga Alumni Association.  

Teo serves as Director of the Higher Educational Consultants Association and Chair of the Global Committee, Independent Educational Consultants Association.
