Gather with alumni and friends for a bold reimagining of a timeless Greek tragedy!
- Join fellow University of Toronto alumni and friends for an afternoon at Bard on the Beach to experience Antigone, a bold new adaptation of Sophocles’ classic Greek tragedy by local playwright Kate Besworth.
Following a devastating civil war, Antigone defies King Creon’s decree by attempting to bury her rebel brother, setting off a powerful conflict between family loyalty and political authority. Exploring themes of resistance, voice and generational reckoning, this raw and timely production brings an ancient story to life for contemporary audiences.
Attendees may arrive beginning at 1:00 PM to enjoy early access to the Bard on the Beach site before the performance begins at 2:00 PM.
To collect your tickets, please visit the University of Toronto welcome table near the front entrance upon arrival. Your alumni representative, Melanie Jackson (BA 1978 VIC), will be there to welcome attendees and distribute tickets.
A limited number of tickets are available. We encourage you to register as soon as possible.
