Cities around the world are in the midst of massive growth and urbanization. As urban areas become more populated, there is an opportunity to build smarter, greener and more inclusive cities. But with the promise of cities comes many pressing challenges faced by urban planners around the globe.
In this talk, Prof. Siemiatycki will discuss some of the challenges of urbanization, including climate change, the integration of innovative technologies in design, accessibility of infrastructure, and issues of inequality. He will also explore how cities can address these challenges to build new communities for the 21st century.
