Sebastian Clovis is the host of HGTV Canada’s Gut Job and has also appeared as a renovation expert on the network’s $ave My Reno, Tackle My Reno and Home To Win series. He is a licensed contractor and owner of his own contracting firm Clovis Contracting. He is also a former professional football player who won the Grey Cup with the BC Lions in 2006.

Taya Cook (EMBA ’20) (The Developer) - EVP, Urban Capital
As the first employee hired at Urban Capital 20 years ago, Taya Cook has had the unique experience to grow with a company that has become one of Canada’s top residential developers. During this time she has been intimately involved with the development of more than 20 buildings, and delivery of over 5,000 condominium units. Tech titan Michele Romanow is a serial entrepreneur who started five companies before her 33rd birthday. A “Dragon” on CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den, Romanow is the co-founder and president of Canadian unicorn Clearco. Clearbanc has invested more than $3B into 6,000 companies, making them the biggest ecommerce investor in the world. Using a data-driven approach, Clearco has backed eight times more female founders than traditional VCs, and spans small businesses worldwide to some of the biggest brands today.
Brigitte Shim (The Architect) - Co-Founder, Shim-Sutcliffe Architects ; Professor, John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, UofT
Brigitte Shim and her partner A. Howard Sutcliffe founded Shim-Sutcliffe Architects in 1994 and have received sixteen Governor General’s Medals for Architecture from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC). They were both awarded the Order of Canada “for their contributions as architects designing sophisticated structures that represent the best of Canadian design to the world.” She is a faculty member at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design at the University of Toronto and has been a visiting chair and lecturer at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), The Cooper Union’s Chanin School of Architecture, The University of Auckland, and others.
