invites you to an exciting networking event for alumni and friends in celebration of U of T’s innovation ecosystem.
Inspired by Geoffrey Hinton’s groundbreaking work in machine learning, U of T startups are writing the next chapter of modern AI. Who are the new trailblazers? What are they creating now? And where will Professor Hinton’s Nobel Prize-winning research lead us next?
Join us for an evening of startup pitches and idea-sharing with the entrepreneurs, researchers and investors driving AI forward today. Networking mixer to follow. Register now so you don’t miss out on AI intel you won’t hear anywhere else!
Early access to pitches by four of U of T’s hottest startups
Jon French, Director, U of T Entrepreneurship, will lead with an overview of U of T's vibrant innovation ecosystem, followed by pitches from four dynamic, scaling U of T ventures that are harnessing the power of AI to create innovative solutions. Founders of all companies will be available during the networking mixer.

Bottom Row: Benjamin Alsbury-Nealy (BSc '15, MA '18, PhD Candidate), CEO, SilicoLabs; Dr. Kyla Alsbury-Nealy (PhD '24), COO, SilicoLabs; Diana Virgovicova, Co-Founder & CEO, Xatoms; Kerem Topal Ismail Oglou, Co-Founder & CTO, Xatoms
ByteShape automates the process of selecting optimal datatypes - e.g. int8, fp8, fp5, and int2 - for neural network models, a task currently impossible to manage manually given the complexity of 200+ tensors. ByteShape's software tools and services for compression and quantization automatically learn and select optimal datatypes to accelerate inference and training.
Cove is looking to revolutionize patient care by leveraging cutting-edge brain data analytics. They accelerate neuroscience research and de-risk clinical trials to enhance treatments for brain-related disorders, driving advancements in healthcare and improving patient outcomes.
SilicoLabs builds tools to capture and decode behaviour to reveal the foundations of learning, decision-making, and actions. Their flagship software, Labo, allows anyone to quickly and easily create interactive experiences that simulate the real world. Labo captures high-fidelity behavioural data, like hand, face, and eye-tracking when using XR devices, as well as data from biosensors like EEG. This data unlocks new insights into how people interact with each other and their world.
Xatoms utilizes AI and quantum chemistry to accurately predict 3D models of photocatalytic structures, aiding in the purification of waters across the globe. The company aims to create efficient and sustainable water treatment solutions in places with limited access to clean water. Xatoms's founders were recently named to the Forbes' Manufacturing and Industry 30 Under 30 list.
Networking Mixer
