Geoffrey Matus

Arbor Award 2010 recipient

Geoffrey Matus has served on the U of T's Governing Council since 2005, bringing with him his expertise in law, real estate and investments, and his extensive record of service as a director of public-sector organizations such as the Canadian Opera Company, Mount Sinai Hospital and the Baycrest Centre. Geoff has been a member of the Business Board throughout his service on the Governing Council, and was vice-chair of that board for the past three years. Geoff was instrumental in reorganizing the way U of T manages its significant real estate assets, and chaired the task force dealing with University Resources for the President's “Towards 2030 Strategic Plan.” Geoff recently served as the chair of the interim board of the U of T Asset Management Corporation, and now chairs the university's Investment Advisory Committee.
