Orlando Martini

Arbor Award 2009 recipient

For more than 50 years, Orlando Martini has been an active and dedicated volunteer with the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering's civil engineering department. His greatest legacy to the faculty has been his success in creating and maintaining, with classmate Jim Burgess, the 5T6 Scholarship Fund—an annual scholarship fund given to an outstanding second year civil engineering student. Orlando has also been the driving force behind the revitalization of the faculty's Survey Camp, where undergraduates in civil, applied geology and mineral engineering, receive training in the fundamentals of surveying. Orlando was also one of the faculty's first volunteer canvassers during the Campaign for the University of Toronto in 1997.
