Safdar (Saf) Mahmood is Chief Technology Officer and a Partner in KPMG’s Advisory practice, where he is responsible for defining and executing the firm’s digital strategy, strengthening collaboration across the firm, and enhancing the client experience through innovation and technology. Prior to this role, Saf was Managing Vice President for Pariveda, a leading management and technology consultancy that expanded into Canada in 2019 and prior to this role, he spent close to two decades at Accenture as a Partner. He has led transformational programs around product development, operational efficiency, business strategy, process redesign and digital enablement. He has lived across North America, Europe and Australia, and has worked with Fortune 500 companies throughout his career helping them solve some of their toughest business challenges.
Outside of the UTAA, Saf served as the President of the University of Toronto Engineering Alumni Network (EAN) Executive Board until 2023, in a role that focused on strengthening connections between alumni, students, and faculty members. In recognition of his volunteer work with the U of T community, he received an Arbor Award in 2023. In addition, he had the honor of being a convocation speaker for the 2022 Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering graduating class. He is also a board member with Women in Communications and Technology (WCT), a not-for-profit focused on empowering women leaders and advocating for gender equality in Canada’s digital economy.
Saf graduated with his BASc in Electrical Engineering in 2003 from U of T. Outside of the office, when he is not chasing after his three young children with his wife Sarah, Mr. Mahmood is a voracious reader, enjoys weightlifting, and spending time outdoors. Being a third-culture individual, he also takes every opportunity to travel and expose his family to different countries and cultures.
