Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award 2013 recipient
A PhD candidate at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, Sheila O'Keefe-McCarthy was an executive member of the Graduate Nursing Student Society from 2008 to 2011. Sheila was also the elected trainee representative on the Canadian Pain Society Executive board of directors. In this capacity she launched a travel award to foster pain research. Sheila has also coordinated social and academic gatherings for PhD students, including simulated proposal defences and presentations.
