Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award 2011 recipient
Faculty of Arts and Science student Matthew Purser has been an active volunteer in a number of areas. He is a mentor for first-year students as part of the Scientists in Training Undergraduate Program and a member of the editorial review board of the Journal of Undergraduate Life Science. He has been active for four years in the annual Brain Day outreach program in association with ThinkFirst Canada, teaching elementary school classes about brain safety. He has also served on the U of T Academic Board and the Committee on Academic Policy and Programs.
