Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award 2010 recipient
PhD student Jocelyn Simmonds is spreading the word about computer science to groups she feels are still underrepresented in the field – women and Hispanics. Jocelyn has mentored girls who might consider careers in computer science and she has shared her experiences as a graduate student by speaking at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. She is also a contributor to Latinas in Computing and is a member at large on the Computer Science Graduate Student Benevolence Society.
