Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award 2008 recipient
At U of T Mississauga, Xuanlu (Melody) Qu is a Peer Academic Leader, providing support in chemical and physical science to 25 first-year students living in residence. With the Chinese Undergraduate Association, the molecular biology specialist helped edit a campus-wide magazine about university life. Melody also volunteers with the AccessAbility Resource Centre, helping a student who is blind to understand figures and tables. For another student with a disability, she takes complete and organized notes.
