Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award 2008 recipient
A master's candidate in the Faculty of Music's conducting program, Katie Kirkup-Ortolan serves as an assistant conductor with the University Women's Chorus and as a member of U of T's MacMillan Singers. Her teaching experience and knowledge of pedagogical approaches prepared her to advocate for music students' concerns about grading procedures and program structures. Through her ideas, scholarship and commitment to excellence, Katie has provided dynamic leadership to all of the students enrolled in music performance.
