2008 Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award Recipients

Emily Van Halem coordinated "The Real Dirt on Food," a food sustainability conference held on campus in March 2007. The Faculty of Arts and Science undergrad majoring in environmental studies and international development has also volunteered with the U of T chapter of Engineers Without Borders. With this organization, she planned events, fund raised and engaged her fellow students in leadership roles. In addition, Emily has led a student initiative called "Street Beat: A Car-Free Celebration" to promote environmental awareness and community.
