Joan Parkes

Arbor Award 2010 recipient

Joan Parkes, a 1962 graduate of Trinity College and recipient of a Masters degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine in 1968, is a former Varsity Blues diver and skier. She continues her commitment to U of T's swimming program to this day. Joan is a long-standing donor to the Faculty of Physical Education and Health, and she supported Project Blue, a legacy fund that raised $4.5 million. For the past five years, Joan has been the women's T-Holders' Association representative on the U of T Sports Hall of Fame selection committee. Her outstanding work with the Hall of Fame allows the Faculty of Physical Education and Health to honour some of the best athletes to have competed for U of T.
