2010 Arbor Award Recipients

Allan Shapira, the University of Toronto's actuary, is a nationally known expert on the design and funding of pension plans. However, his commitment to the university goes far beyond a typical consulting role. Allan makes himself available to senior administrators even on evenings and weekends, providing guidance on issues that arise from provincial government oversight of pensions or university contract negotiations. And his contribution to these serious matters always includes his keen sense of humour. Allan also assists in developing seminars for staff, helping to outline key pension and benefits issues in a clear and understandable manner.
