Dennis Lane has shown unwavering volunteer commitment to Victoria College for over 50 years. Dennis was a member of the Board of Regents of Victoria for 21 years, and was its chair for four of those years. During this time, Victoria acquired the Lillian Massey Building, launched its relationship with the Gardiner Ceramic Museum, became the home of the Institute for the History of Science and Technology, joined in forming the Toronto School of Theology and negotiated the first modern Memorandum of Understanding defining the role of the Colleges within the University. When he retired as Chair in 1982, Dennis was made an Honorary Life Member of the Board. Since being elected permanent class president in 1954, Dennis has headed a devoted team of classmates in promoting a variety of reunions.
