Shirley M. Drummond
Arbor Award 2007 recipient
Joining the Soldiers' Tower Committee in 1989, Shirley Drummond initiated the commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Ridgeway, a military engagement in which three University College students died in 1866. Her research and collaboration with the Queen's Own Rifles Regiment resulted in a successful memorial service on June 1, 1991. Shirley continues to lay a wreath at the monument every year. This 1951 Victoria College graduate also assists with the annual Remembrance Day service.
