Mechtilde O'Mara
Arbor Award 2007 recipient
Sister Mechtilde O'Mara has been a classics professor at St. Michael's College for more than 30 years. In that time, she has stayed in regular contact with former students and updated the Alumni Office on developments in their lives. To keep alumni connected with the university, she served as editor of the Classics Bulletin until 2001. The 1956 graduate also served as Vice-Chair of the Collegium – her college's governing body – for four years, and has been to high schools across Ontario to recruit top students.
