Arbor Award 2014 recipient
For 20 years, Veneta was an advisor to and supporter of the Centre for Russian, European and Eurasian Studies, helping to establish it as Canada's premier centre for the study of the Balkans and Southeastern Europe. Veneta built bridges with educational institutions in Bulgaria and with the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These efforts resulted in student exchanges as well as opportunities for leading Bulgarian scholars to visit U of T.
