2009 Arbor Award Recipients

Gerry Connelly has committed her time, experience and leadership ability to the Dean's Advisory Board at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). A board member since 2006, Gerry's observations and advice have helped to strengthen OISE and define its future directions. Gerry has played a central role in strengthening its partnership with the Toronto District School Board and supported OISE research initiatives like the Inclusive Schools Project. For the past 15 years, Gerry has also provided leadership and support to U of T's Summer Mentorship Program and the Saturday Morning Mentorship Program. These programs, organized through the faculties of medicine, law and social work, are aimed at students who do not traditionally go on to university. They have proven to be highly successful.
