R. Scott MacKendrick is a Partner at Bereskin & Parr LLP / S.E.N.C.R.L., s.r.l., a prominent Canadian intellectual property law firm. Scott practices in all areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on litigation. He has been involved in patent litigation across a broad range of technologies, and has been involved in trademark, copyright, industrial design, and trade secret litigation, and in domain name dispute resolution. He also practices before the Trademarks Office and the Trademarks Opposition Board.

Scott is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Law School teaching Patent and Trade Secret law, and has done so for most of the past 20 years. He has also taught at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and at the University of Victoria.

Scott is immediate past President of the University of Toronto Alumni Association. He is a past chair of the College of Electors, past vice-chair of a Chancellor Search Committee, and served on the University of Toronto Engineering Alumni Association’s Executive Board. He has also served on Governing Council’s Committee on Honorary Degrees, as well as on selection and adjudication committees for the Rose Wolfe Distinguished Alumni Award, the Northrop Frye Award and the President’s Impact Awards. Scott is the recipient of an Arbor Award for his service to the University. He also holds a LL.B. from Queen’s University, and resides in Toronto.
