Organised by St. James’ Settlement – Wan Chai District Elderly Community Centre in Hong Kong
Join fellow U of T alumni and friends in supporting the St. James's Settlement's large-scale home visit event on the third day of the Lunar New Year.
Sign up as a volunteer to visit seniors living alone or as couples in the Wan Chai district. In addition to celebrating the festive season together, these visits aim to bring warmth, care and a sense of community.
Event details are as follows:
Assembly Location: 4/F Ming Wah Hall, 85 Stone Nullah Lane, Wan Chai (to be confirmed)
Programme: Volunteer briefing, home visits, debrief and follow-up
Language: This activity will mainly be conducted in Cantonese.

⚠️ Important Notes for Volunteers
- The buildings visited may include walk-up tenement buildings (requiring climbing 5–7 floors). Please consider your physical condition when registering. If you require special arrangements, please inform us in advance.
- The weather on the event day may be hot or cool. Volunteers should bring suitable personal items (e.g., water, portable fan, sun hat, towel, light jacket) and wear comfortable clothing.
- No storage facilities are available at the centre.
- Please pay attention to weather conditions. If the Observatory issues a No. 3 Typhoon Signal or Red Rainstorm Warning at or after 7:30 AM, the event will be cancelled without further notice.
