The University of Toronto Alumni Association's Community Engagement Committee is bringing together alumni interested in having a positive impact in their communities with the organizations that are making a difference.
Carl Mitchell Award for Community Engagement
In 2015 the UTAA launched the UTAA Community Engagement Award to recognize a U of T graduate who has made outstanding contributions to their community, and in doing so, has enriched the lives of others.
In 2017, the award was renamed to honour past UTAA President, Carl Mitchell, who passed away in 2016. It was under his leadership that the UTAA established the Community Engagement Award, and it is a fitting tribute to Carl's vision that the award was renamed in his honour.

ABOUT THE UTAA COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE
UTAA’s Community Engagement Initiative highlights alumni interested in having a positive impact in their communities with fellow alumni, the University and community partners that are already making a difference. Through this initiative we can recognize everyday heroes and celebrate our collective impact.
The Community Engagement Committee's focus is the promotion and celebration of the Carl Mitchell Award and its recipient.
